Memory Care
We believe in creating a warm, home-like environment rather than providing an institution-like facility. The important health care component in our facilities is integrated with the environment so that residents have the support they need without focusing extensively on nursing services. Our communities have spacious common areas, cozy sitting areas to visit, rest or just be a part of daily activities. Outside, each community has completely secured courtyards with garden spots and patio areas to provide that important connection with the out-of-doors we all cherish.
Helpful Assistance
Assistance is provided to the degree that residents need help. Experienced staff members carefully assess the needs of each person and design individualized programs. Each community offers four levels of care to support residents through various stages of dementia.
Innovative Programming
Freedom of movement and choice are the cornerstones of our innovative programming. Our staff spends time to learn important lifestyle routines for each resident. Knowing details like food preferences, favorite activities and typical sleeping patterns helps us to emphasize people’s strengths and capabilities. We train all staff in the Gentle Care Philosophy which is critical to ensuring maximum quality of life for residents.
Family plays a critical role
Family members are an important part of our Alzheimer’s communities. We have support groups to provide the opportunity for family members to meet in a mutually supportive atmosphere. Families and visitors are encouraged to browse through and borrow books and videos from our Alzheimer’s resource libraries. As part of our mission, each facility helps sponsor community events to help people dealing with dementia.
Supportive Programs
Periods of rest are just as important as the care they give their loved one. With this in mind, Northwest Care Communities offer two unique programs to assist caregivers.
Our Day Programs offer relief from 1-8 hours per day. Individuals are welcome to participate daily or intermittently.
Our Respite Program offers relief from 1-30 days, scheduled as may be needed. We encourage caregivers to take a break for the day or plan some time on a regular basis.
For confidentiality, we cannot disclose the names of residents or family members in our testimonials.
